Physical and cognitive task analyses have served as important methodologies in the human factors toolkit for decades. In my most recent human factors publication, I present a broader framework that can include or subsume all other forms of task analysis: Multidimensional Task Analysis. MTA empowers the practitioner by expanding the range of possible task analyses they might perform. In addition to introducing several new methods in multiple layers, I detail an important new approach called Emotional Task Analysis.
