Dr. James Intriligator serves as the Director and lead pilot behind Glider Innovations. He is a trailblazer in the integration of AI innovation, human creativity, business solutions, consumer psychology, and human factors engineering. James is also Director of Strategic Innovation and Professor of the Practice in the Human Factors Engineering Program at Tufts University, Boston, USA.
A Background in Neuroscience and Consumer Psychology
Dr. Intriligator harnesses a unique blend of academic and business acumen. Beginning his journey with a Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience from Harvard in 1997, he then ventured into roles as an innovation catalyst and offerings designer in venture capital and high-tech consulting firms. Beginning in 2003, he moved to Bangor University, creating Europe’s leading consumer psychology master’s programs and co-developing several multidisciplinary design programs. His contribution to teaching excellence was recognized when he was named a UK National Teaching Fellow.
Expertise in Product Design and Engineering
Since joining Tufts University in 2016, he has guided the Human Factors Engineering program towards innovation and growth, earning multiple teaching awards along the way. His research, spanning from assistive robots and VR systems to consumer products and military devices, has resulted in over 50 publications in a variety of fields. Dr. Intriligator’s expansive work as a consultant has aided dozens of global and national companies, from Unilever and Tesco to Citibank and Lloyds Banking Group. His work with Glider Innovations fuses this wealth of experience, academic rigor, and innovative AI tools to offer problem-solving strategies and tech-empowered solutions for modern-day challenges.
